New York Comic Con 2011: Max Payne 3

During New York Comic Con last weekend, Rockstar Games invited me to check out two of their new titles. I got to explore two levels of Max Payne 3 and play the new Grand Theft Auto game for the ipod/ipad. They wouldn't allow me to take photos of the new GTA game but they did however provide a pretty cool trailer of Max Payne 3, created entirely from in-game footage, to share with all of you. Check out the trailer below and comment:

Max Payne 3 takes place several years after the events of Max Payne 2. Still haunted by his past, Max leaves the NYPD and the United States to take a job in executive security and protection at the suggestion of Raul Passos, a former acquaintance from his early days on the police force.
As a first in the series, Max Payne 3 will feature a fully realized multiplayer component that will fit seamlessly alongside the single player game.

Video: "Michael" PS3 Long Live Play

This has to be one of the best PS3 commercials I've ever seen. It really connects with true gamers, you see all of your favorite characters from various games. It really creates an illusion of this world of characters living within your gaming console.

Surreal Moment of Day: The Game That Came Back Home

I usually don't post personal stories on this site but this story was too surreal to not post it. Today, I went to a store called "Book-Off" in Manhattan, NY. "Book Off" is sort of like a Japanese pawn shop for music, movies, books, and video games. I usually find great deals on  popular games at the Book-Off, but my find today really blew me away. I found a copy of NBA Jam for Sega Genesis, it wasn't the game itself that was surprising though. The surreal moment was when I looked at the front of the box and noticed my initials. This copy of NBA Jam was my video game that I sold to a video game store in New Jersey back in the early 90s as a kid. I nearly fainted on the floor, I said Oh My God! what are the odds of me finding a game that I sold as a kid in an entirely different state in a different decade. My friend said I should definitely purchase it since it was a once in a lifetime occurrence. I bought the video game for 5 bucks and you can see the photo below with my initials on the bottom of the game from my childhood days. I still own my sega genesis too so hopefully I can get it to boot up lol.

Video: The Sony NGP (PSP 2) In Action

Check out this video exhibiting some of the amazing things the Sony NGR can do, as I watched this video all I could say is "WOW! That's pretty amazing!"

The PSP 2 (NGP)

Last night, Sony held an event in Tokyo to unveil a new product, I stayed up to cover this event via satellite. They introduced us to their new system called the NGP (Next Generation Portable) aka The PSP 2. Check out the specs below, it's pretty awesome if it can really do all that stuff...

The PSP2 features a high-resolution, touch-sensitive OLED screen that's larger than the original PSP screen, tilt-sensitive SIXAXIS controls, dual analog sticks, front and back-facing cameras, and a touch sensitive back panel.

Sony boasts that the new PlayStation Portable is as powerful as a PlayStation 3. The device features built-in WiFi and 3G wireless connectivity and uses an all-new form of media storage for games—no more UMD.

Here's how Sony describes it: "NGP adopts a new game medium, a small flash memory based card, dedicated for NGP software titles. Taking advantage of the flash memory feature, this innovative card can store the full software titles plus add-on game content or the game save data directly on to the card. By adopting flash memory based card, SCE will be able to provide game cards with higher capacity in the future, allowing developers to store more game data to deliver rich and immersive games."

For now, Sony is officially calling the new PlayStation Portable by its codename, Next Generation Portable or NGP. It will be out this holiday in Japan.

In order to get you all ready for the release of the greatest NBA game in history, here is the official full length trailer showing off the amazing character animations. As a kid of the 90s I saw all of these legends play in real life and I am shocked at how great they captured the animations. Look how Dominique handles the ball and check out the mannerism as Jordan goes up for the dunks. Simply Amazing! :-) I will have my game later on tonight for XBOX Live.

New Michael Jackson Video Game Announced at E3

The King of Pop Michael Jackson is no stranger to video games. Besides appearances in SEGA games like Space Channel 5 and Space Channel 5: Part 2, Jackson also had his own game Michael Jackson's Moonwalker. That's not all.

Today, Ubisoft showed a new performance-based Jackson game. According to the publisher, the game puts players in the shoes of the popstar and enables them to relive his most iconic performances through dancing and singing.

The game features iconic songs like Beat It and Billie Jean.

"Michael always pushed every limit when it came to technology to give his fans unforgettable entertainment experiences, whether it involved his videos, his recordings or his concerts. Now, with this interactive product, we have the chance to bring Michael, the artist, into households around the world in a perfect match of Michael's artistry and the family entertainment which he always highly valued," said John Branca, co-executor for The Estate of Michael Jackson.

"This game is a natural extension of what he would be doing today to raise his artistry to even greater heights for his fans of all generations," Branca added. "It is a game that the entire family can experience and enjoy together and this is something that would please Michael tremendously."

Previously, there have been reports of a new Jackson game, which will coincide with a "new" album and re-released works.

Michael Jackson: The Game will be released this holiday season on the Xbox 360 for the Kinect and the PS3 for the Move. There will also be Wii, PSP and DS versions.
