Fashion Find: Spirit Hoods

While browsing the web, I came across these very interesting fashion accessories called "Spirit Hoods". I love the concept and I actually want to buy a few of them lol, I wish they made the kids designs in adult sizes. These hoods remind me of the movie "Where the Wild Things Are". When you purchase one of these accessories, a part of proceeds go to a non profit organization that helps animals. The organization is chosen based on which animal pattern hood you decide to purchase, all the hoods are made from faux fur so no animals are used in their creation. MCM Pop Up Store Berlin

The folks over at HighSnob posted some coverage of the MCM pop-up shop out there in Berlin.

Today we passed by the opening of the new MCM Pop-Up Store in Berlin Mitte. Days before fashion week the German luxury leather goods brand opened a temporary store, catering to the young fashionable.

The product focus in the store lies on backpacks, iPhone and iPad cases, as well as small leather goods. The store also carries all the limited edition goods of the brand and their collaborations, including the one with Phenomenon from Japan. Make sure to pass by the store this week, should you be in town.

Nous Sommes Jimi Hendrix Pendants

 Here's the latest celebrity head pendant from Nous Sommes, its rock legend Jimi Hendrix. The pendants are available in black, silver, & gold.

I've been thinking about getting one of these hats for a while and it's definitely making a comeback along with those 80s track suits.

Hublot La Clé Du Temps Watch

If you aren't familiar with the movement in the La Cle du Temps, let me explain it. It starts with a tourbillon based movement, where the tourbillon juts out of the bottom side of the watch. This is called a vertically mounted tourbillon. You can see it in the picture looking like some space age propeller. The watch dial, to tell the time, is on the upper right of the dial. The lower left of the dial is a power reserve indicator (looks like 5 days worth in the manually wound movement), and above it is the selector for speeding up for slowing down the time. This is where it gets interesting, and Hublot has clearly changed the format of the dial a bit from the previous watch. Using a crown on the left of the watch you can alter the time to run fast or run slow. A fun, but gimmicky way of "controlling time." The neat part is that the movement always retains knowledge of the correct time - so you can always switch it back to "normal" mode and the time isn't all screwed up.

When is a watch like this useful? Honestly, I am not sure it ever is above and beyond appreciating the complexity of it all. In a sense, it is a metaphor about controlling time. The name of the watch itself is the "key of time." If you can afford it, you can say that you hold the key to time - and what greater power is there than that?

Agenda NYC 2011: Neff Headwear

While at Agenda NYC, we stopped by the Neff booth and they were the greatest. They allowed me and my team to try all they had to offer, they had some pretty interesting pieces. We took so many photos that everything had to be broken down into sections. Here are the Hats from Neff, I was very intrigued by the 'Yo Gabba Gabba' collaboration. A big thank you to my assistant @shuntyJ for modeling some of the hats for us, and yes the beard in that photo is actually attached to the hat, its a creative facemask.
