Travis Gumbs: With back to school season in full swing, it is the perfect occasion to unveil our latest project, The Black Ivy. For this feat, we teamed up with F.E. Castleberry of Unabashedly Prep, a great guy and even better photographer whose talent and work ethic was more than enough to fulfill the high expectations of this monumental juncture.
When Josh and I first started thinking about this concept, we saw it as the perfect opportunity to intertwine style, character, education and art with a culture that we are not only familiar with, but actually a big part of. The Black Ivy serves as a tribute to the first black colleges that paved the way for our generation and created a common ground for hardworking, likeminded individuals. What the original Black Ivy league did for folks many years ago is what we strive to do today with individuals that inspire, motivate and spark the creativity of beings around them.
This is a video that we shot the day of the shoot. The quality of work that flourishes whenever creative minds bind together never seizes to amaze me. CJ of Culture of Creativity was wizardly able to catch the intense fervor and passion of that immaculate day. I am so grateful that we are able to have some sort of video representation of that day; describing it in words is very much next to impossible. Some of you guys probably remember Joekenneth’s epic spoken word performance in Sewn From The Soul. His stage presence, wordplay and delivery is unmatched. When he speaks you not only hear him, you feel his words pierce deep within. What we strive to do with clothes, Kenny does with words.

Kanye West says he often feels slighted by the media, claiming that journalists either twist his words or miss the humor in his responses. Well, the outspoken rapper will have only himself to blame if he doesn't enjoy the October issue of XXL.
'Ye graces the cover of the magazine and penned the story himself, a first-person narrative in which he opens up about the aftermath of his 2009 MTV Video Music Awards stunt where he interrupted Taylor Swift's acceptance speech.
"In a way, I had thrown a Molotov cocktail at my own career, and it gave me an opportunity, for the first time, to go away and find out who I was," he wrote. "Because I felt very alone.
"I stress that the incident wasn't about Taylor personally," he explained. "And it definitely wasn't about race. Where I messed up is, at the end of the day, it's your show, Taylor. It's your show, MTV."
After the incident, 'Ye was vilified by the public and became a punching bag for comics, critics and even President Barack Obama. He also lost onetime fans who had had enough of the superstar's stage-crashing antics. West said an apology — to everyone — was necessary.
"The relationship with the public and with your fans is like the relationship with your girlfriend," he wrote. "How could I not, at a certain point, be like, 'I'm sorry. I shouldn't have been at the awards show. I'm sorry'? Not that I don't deserve to get beat up or change who I am inside, to make sure that that doesn't happen again.
"I knew I wasn't in a great spot publicly after the incident, but I would just block it out and work as hard as possible and let my work be my saving grace," he added.
In addition to penning a story about himself, West also curates the magazine's special 40-page section, temporarily taking the title of "creative director."
The issue arrives on newsstands September 28 and will also feature stories on Kid Cudi, Wiz Khalifa and a package on producers-turned-rappers, à West.

Twitter released a new two-pane interface today featuring keyboard shortcuts, embedded media, and a more information-rich experience. If you use Twitter from the web interface, it's an update worth checking out.
It's basically a more AJAX-y interface, meaning a faster experience, less waiting on page loads, more inline media images and video from supported services, and keyboard shortcuts.
The update's rolling out incrementally, so if you don't see it already (chances are you don't), you probably should sometime this week. (They actually said they don't know how long it'll take, so you may have to be patient.)
Japanese brand NEXUSVII worked with British knitwear manufacturer Inverallan. Inverallan produced a fisherman cardigan for the brand. The cable knit cardigan comes with premium buffalo horn buttons and will be released in the coming week.
